 The Main Stone

Many friends must have been to Tibet. Stone with Sanskrit inscribed on is called "Mani stone" by those who believe in Tibetan Buddhism.

The Mani stone standing at the main entrance of the culture village weighs up to 68 tons and is honored as the "No. 1 Mani Stone on the Plateau". It arrived at the village through Datong River and has become the treasure of the Western Tu's Folk Culture Village

This Mani stone looks like a treasure bowl if seen from the front and a big white elephant if seen from a side. If you carefully look at this huge Mani stone with its "tummy" exposed, does it seem to be a modest Buddha? The scriptures on it are carved ancient Indian Sanskrit, including Medicine Buddha Mantra, Amitayus Mantra etc. Buddhist "ong", "ma", "ni", "bei", "mei" and "hong" are carved on the bottom of the Mani stone.

So far, this Mani stone has a history of more than 300 years. People here would gently touch the two sides of this sacred stone devoutly, as it is said that doing so can remove ill fortune and diseases. You can have a try!
